Has anyone ever suffered from severe body rash when receiving this treatment. Sandra has it pretty much all over but its very angry looking around abdomen and very itchy. The Christie hotline suggested Piriton which we bought first thing this morning. I wanted to know if this rash appears on each cycle or not. Thanks

Hi there, I am on my 3rd line chemo of Carb/Gem and started to get a rash after about the second session, this has steadly got worse and spread over my body after each session of the Gemcitibine on its own, its does seem to fade a bit until the next time but is all over my legs arms and body. I have been using E45 anti itch cream which seems to work for me. My onc said that its a well know side effect of the Gemcitibine. Hope that helps a bit (you're not alone) Tess x

I had a itchy rash with Caelyx and found that Sudocreme (the stuff for babies' bottoms) was helpful.

Sorry you're suffering.
