I would like to know more about what is happening with you for you to make this decision. It would be helpful to know more about your diagnosis and the staging. My suggestion would be for you to make an appointment with your gynaecological oncologist to have a discussion about the reasons you wish to stop. If a particular medication is giving you such side-effects that your body is unable to cope, as you say, it may be possible to change the medication. You could also discuss the options with the gynae clinical nurse specialist at the hospital, as she would be part of the multi-disciplinary team.

I felt like this with one of the drugs I was on, and when I told my oncologist he scaled down the dose, perhaps yours is one of these that can be adjusted without affecting the result. I must admit that my count started going up slowly after the change, and I ended up having to chnage treatments, but at least I felt better! (and the new drug didn't affect me so much.

I had paclitaxel chemo last year (started April) and found the side effect of the taxol just too awful (whole body racked with muscle and joint pain, felt almost suicidal). I talked it through with one of the counsellors at Ovacome and with my GP and Oncologist and stopped the taxol part after 3 treatments but carried on with the carboplatin for the rest of the course. My cancer returned this year and i am now trying a different combination of chemo.
