Blood levels

I just received results for my blood tests and My white blood count, RBC and neutrophils has all dropped drastically. I only had one treatment on paradoxil and dextol, not sure what the next step will be? Has anyone received any kind of treatment to improve those levels? Thank you jackie us

Hi there, Are you on any meds to boost your white cells? I was put on Filgrastim. I don't know about your particular cancer but I know it's common for levels to dip. My treatment was paclitaxel/carboplatin so entirely different. Anyway, hope this helps and hope your levels recover. xx

Thank you, yes I need to correct I am on carboplatin and doxil, I will ask the Dr next week. Thank you so much..

The chemotherapy we get attacks the fast growing tumor by killing any cells in your body are rapidly dividing and growing. The cells in your bone marrow which produce blood are rapidly dividing cells and the chemo will halt those. Mid chemo cycle, known as nadir is when all your platelets and blood count will be low. Normally the bloods recovers enough by the end of the cycle for you to be able to have another treatment. Hope it all goes well.

Thank you, I never had this after one treatment before. This is my 3rd cycle of chemo since first diagnosed in 2022. I'll see what Dr says this week.

Twice, I had a Neulasta patch which injects medicine 24 hours after treatment. It automatically dispenses into your arm. That helped my WBC and neutrophils significantly. I hope this helps.

I received Carboplatin/Taxol and my numbers dropped dramatically. I was given Neulasta Onpro after each treatment and worked nicely. Not sure if this can be used with your drug combo. Check with your oncologist. I’m sure they’re on top of it and you will be fine.
