I have Famotidine tablets to take 3 hours before Chemo , do you also take your normal prescribed tablets before going to the hospital , we have to be there for 8am. I am currently taking steroids which I normally take with breakfast or should I wait until given the all clear at hospital to take tablets, don’t want to hinder start of chemo.
Thank you

Oh you are on steroids, it helps for side effects. I usually take my prescribed drugs as normal, then often nurses give me extra steroids before infusion. ( 30mins before), hope it goes well for your first chemo.
If no one has told you otherwise, better take your steroids as normal - they must kow you're on steroids, presumably, but make sure you tell them when you get there that you've taken them. With most (but not all) chemo infusions, its usual to have an infusion of steroids and anti sickness first, just before the chemo, so its important they know what you have taken beforehand.
You didn't mention what drugs you are getting but constipation is no joke. Week 2 the first time around was rough! Stay on top of stool softeners and Sienna. Hydrate for sure! I also found that my Magnesium levels have also been low when they dropped too low the infused some. I now take supplement twice daily. Best of luck! You will rock this!
