Elevated CA125 from 11 8 months ago to 93.

Has anyone experience their CA, 125 elevated to 93? I was diagnosed five years ago and was in remission until two years ago. It came back a swollen lymph node above my diaphragm. Now I’m very concerned since the last couple of months my count has gone up significantly. My oncologist has done, pets, scan, CAT scan and endoscopy today. Nothing has shown.my oncology sent that it’s chronic for me to prepare my body. I’m deeply concerned about it.

Hello, this limbo, not knowing if there’s a recurrence is a situation that many of us find ourselves in.

It seems that it is more difficult to detect the disease for a second or third time. Equally the ca125 can blip for other reasons.

Many of us live with permanent uncertainty! It’s hard..

But just think about the precious time you are giving over to worry. Is there a way to live for today and try not to project forward to what might happen?

Thank you so much Lindy for your kind words. All my oncologist says is that I should wait. I’m getting a CAT scan again in four weeks.

Two months ago I finished 6 rounds of Carboplatin and Taxol. My CA-125 has risen from 10 to 28 in a couple of months since I finished. I’m trying not to worry. I had a CAT Scan today and I am waiting for the results. I saw a post somewhere on this site that mentioned a newer test than the CA-125 that is supposed to be more accurate in that it detects earlier even when CAT scan isn’t showing anything yet. I am planning on asking my oncologist about it.

Hi marmay88o. You have swollen lymph node! Must be in pain! Feel for you. I am so sorry to hear you have elevated CA125. Must be worrying not knowing what's happening. CA125 may rise for inflammation, mine has gone up I have a metasistic OC sits in one of lymph node near right kidney. Also I have developed necrosis in one of lymph nodes right tummy. I hope your oncologist can find what causing the inflamation....

If it's just inflammation of lymph node, antibiotics helps to ease inflammation.

Easy to say l know but please dont panic. I had operation 6 weeks ago. Not cancer but saw my oncologist 2 weeks later my count had gone from 15 to 400 so l was bothered obviously and oncologist hadn't realised ld had serious surgery. Anyhow he said come back in 2 weeks well ld booked a holiday so l said sorry Doctor lm on holiday nothing stops my holiday when lm in flight mode. Anyhow went yesterday ld had my bloods done at local Hospice day before. He greeted me with a big smile Sheila your CA125 is 15 he actually said lm amazed myself time before he was talking scans treatments etc. I walked 160 miles for cancer research whilst l was in Tenerife And to say l was thrilled was an understatement but l did get increases each time l had the covid jab. So please try and not think the worse. I had a swollen lymph node taken out in my bowel area in 2019 it was cancerous so had long sessions of chemo and have been NED ever since.
