[Edited by moderator to include the following: please note this study involved three people with pathological ovarian cysts. Pathological cysts are abnormally growing cells and are not related to the menstrual cycle, unlike functional ovarian cysts. Functional ovarian cysts often resolve on their own, pathological cysts may require treatment. The study did not include participants with ovarian cancer.]

Anyone heard of this being used to shrink ovarian mass. From what I can see it is used a lot in France.

Objectives: This case series of pathological left ovarian masses demonstrates the role of homeopathic treatment in each of two multiparous women where the right ovary was surgically removed previously for similar pathology and in an adolescent girl with increased tumor marker CA-125.

Methods: Three cases of women with pathological ovarian masses in the left ovary, and advised invasive surgery by attending gynecologists, were treated with homeopathic medicines at the outpatient department of the National Homeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health, Kottayam, Kerala, from 2017 to 2020. Each case was followed up with clinical and ultrasonographic evidence and reported according to the criteria set out in the HOM-CASE guidelines.

Result: Complete resolution of the ovarian masses was observed in all three cases, evidenced by ultrasonography, with normalizing CA-125 values also observed in the case of endometrial cyst. The patients improved within 4 to 15 months of treatment using Thuja and other individualized homeopathic medicines. The MONARCH score was calculated as +7/13, +9/13, and +9/13 for the three cases, respectively, indicating a positive causal attribution of homeopathy in the resolution of these pathological ovarian masses.

Conclusion: This case series suggests that individualized homeopathy, and notably Thuja, can be useful in the treatment of pathological ovarian masses.

How do you mean 'dear to me'? That's a bit dismissive 'and pigs might fly'. There is actual evidence it is on pub med, the mri showed the ovarian mass had gone that were treated with thuja occidentalis varying dosage over 30 months. I have started it with a registered homeopath so it remains to be seen whether it will become dear to me for my mass!

The pdf and findings are on Research Gate.

You will be the first to know if I do manage to shrink anything that needs shrinking...I can be an extra guinea pig for science/women while I wait for an appointment AGAIN!

I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time and can’t understand why you are waiting so long for an appointment if you’ve been diagnosed with OC - have you been told you need surgery? Is your mass potentially malignant? Love Shan xx

I met another consultant last week and I feel a bit better. This is my 4th opinion. I am back end of Feb for a repeat scan. He said I need to get into my head that I will need surgery. He will not be going near the left ovary or the left fallopian tube that was a relief and on the right that depends on the day. Other consultant said both ovaries and both fallopian tubes removed! Had 4 different opinions. I am a bit better in my head because this guy is also endometriosis expert.

Hi Ova104. Thanks for sharing this piece of research. The gold standard for clinical decisions in the UK is the randomised control trial. This study of 3 women in India may be of interest but would indicate the possible need for further studies, Other factors that would need to be considered such as diet and lifestyle differences which may alter outcomes if carried out in another country. I personally would not consider treating myself without the approval of an oncologist in the UK and on such limited information.
