Hi - I have posted on here a few weeks ago and you brave ladies were fantastic with your responses. After an urgent referral for an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound my appointment is finally tomorrow. It's been the longest 2 weeks waiting! I've redecorated the living room for the first time in years so that's a positive!
My question is in your experience if something is seen on the ultrasound that looks out of the ordinary do they tell you there and then or do you have to wait for the results to be sent back to your GP?
I remain significantly bloated (my waist is 4 inches bigger than it was at the end of October) and struggle to sleep comfortably. The ache in my pelvis has become more gnawing than a niggle which it was 3 weeks ago. It is worse after standing for a while or walking.
I just want them to do the ultrasound and it be like the grand reveal almost like a 'tada!' you're not going crazy something is going on and it most definitely isn't trapped gas!
I look forward to your replies .
Sending you all positive vibes on a dreary November morning.

No "TaDa" moment, I suspect. I think they have to go away and study the results to give a considered response, so I don't think you will get the answer there and then. But just look at it this way - you would rather have an opinion which they have given thought to, instead of a reflex reaction. Best to start painting the loo! The sun is shining here today and may it shine on all of us. Love, Emma x
Just had the ultrasound this morning and apart from a small cyst on my left ovary nothing concerning was seen. Obviously I am over the moon! But my symptoms persist. So it's back to the GP I go. Not sure what to do next?
Hi Tray 4321, my ultrasound didn’t show anything concerning. My CT scan and CA125 showed up as ovarian cancer. By the time this was done, I was already stage 3/4, so time can be of the essence. Just keep pursuing until the tests show what is going on. Best wishes, Donna
have they done other tests or scans? This might be recommended after your next appointment. Did you have a ca125 blood test?
I had a ca125 then ultrasound then an appointment with gynaecologist who then sent me for Ct and mri scans.
I had a large cyst with tumour in which was then removed and full hysterectomy I’m 39
It turned out to be cancer very early stages 1a and a rare type
My ca125 was 50 so only slightly over the normal range.
I originally went to the doctors as felt a pressure under my rib area she told me I had hurt my ribs!! I went back 3 months later and everything kicked off after a different doctor saw me.
If something does seem right get a second opinion see another doctor, push for more tests.
Thank you Heart888 and Pianoplayer731021. I contacted my GP on my return from the ultrasound and they have arranged a telephone consultation for the 14th Dec. Which annoyed the hell out of me! So I contacted my local private hospital and had an online GP appointment who recommended I see a gynaecologist. So my Christmas present to myself is a private gynae appt on Monday lunchtime!
