Hi Rita
I was on a trial for a cancer vaccine mid 2020 went through pharisis (7 hours) where they harvested my immune cells and created a vaccine to fight my specific cancer ( they used part of my tumor to create it).
Unfortunately they closed the trial as they found it did not give the results expected. Was very disappointed. Don’t know if there are newer trials going on ……. Wouldn’t that be lovely if it could happen.
Hi,
Thanks, I thought similar as to a general Influenza vaccine jab, not ever considering a cancer vaccine would involve an individuality personal investigation.
'One fits all' seems better and less time consuming.
As well, like all general vaccines individual scrutiny doesn't involve such personal invasions, and technicians valuable time consumption.
I read that the Covid pandemic and those eventual vaccines are helping make way towards future unheard of miricle vaccinations.
God speed.

Unfortunately Cancer is not a virus so you have to attack the actual mechanism the cancer is replicating and killing your own cells. It is amazing how far they have come even since I was diagnosed in Dec 2019. I have only had 5 months of NED during that time and never been off chemo or maitanence so coming up on four years and doesn't look like I will make 5 but we will see........I am on 6th line chemo
Hi,
Thanks for your response, I wish you well.I do realise cancer isn't a virus.
I'm not medical at all, but I do adore simplicity of which Cancer isn't.
Futuristically why not a jab or med pill eventually?
I'm stage 4 diagnosed January 2022,
First was Chemo then Avastin, didn't work, now back on chemo with Caelyx, then possibly begin a drug comination in 6 months time with possibly Olaparib with Durvalumab.
Thanks much.

Wow I have never heard of durvalumab have been on Olaparib did not work for me but heard good things from others
Did you have your tumor tested for HER, folate and other possibles? I am sure you were genetically tested too . It seems those who have the braca gene do much better. I have straight hgsoc no mutations whatsoever. Still here from 2019 stage 4 and still fighting! I am currently on Abraxane and though it is working slowly it has shrunk my liver metastases by 1/2 a centimeter so it is working! It’s amazing all the new things they are coming up with isn’t it keep up the good fight and remember

Hi,
I haven't been genetically tested yet as far as i know, as I'm waiting for my Germline BRAC test, this is the same isn't it?
Tumor tested for HER ? folate and other issues ? Haven't any idea at all about this, I will ask.
hgsoc ? me as well.
Abraxane ? not heard of this, I am HRD negative, if my Germline BRCA returns negative result the my meds could be different - with no mutations same as you...?
Although just before Caeylx {chemo} had a blood test, whether or not was or the chemo or other I'm not sure.
Thank you.

ps:
just looked up HER - Hereditary ? my Germline BRCA will confirm this. ? {thanks for your quiz} -- {smile}
