what where your symptoms that lead to your diagnosis?

Been having symptoms since beginning of June, gradually getting worse. Started with typical ovarian pain, I knew I had a cyst, just became more frequent, now with bad back pain on same side. So far scans showing complex septated cyst, also signs of deep infiltrative endometriosis?! Which I never was aware of. Wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

Hi. I take it you have a gyn oncologist looking at this? Not to be alarmist but “complex separated cyst with a solid section” was the ultrasound finding that turned out to be HGSOC stage 3 b. Please pursue this aggressively. Xx

Hi,,yes, same description I had after scan and ultrasound, turned out to be HGSOC stage 3c. I also had CA125 not supportive of having OC, however it was OC. Be proactive! Wish you a good health!

My mass was described as complex with some areas of solid material. It turned out to be clear cell ovarian cancer stage 1C2. As others have said you may need to be proactive in asking for further investigation if you aren’t seeing a Gyne Oncologist already. My CA125 blood test showed a level of 139 normal is less than 30, my GP wasn’t unduly concerned as he thought this could just be caused by inflammation. It turned out to be a 20cm tumour. If I hadn’t insisted on a scan I dread to think what the outcome would have been.

thanks everyone, it didn’t specifically mention a solid component, I think that is why no one is taking it seriously, I do have an appointment with gyn/onc on 9/15, will update

Any complex cyst should be investigated further, for the reasons above. CA125 is NOT reliable or sufficient to make a diagnosis (or rule out ovarian cancer). Glad you have an appointment pending and hope you get some answers.
