Yes listen to your body & be kind to it 🤗 use nice smelling creams on your skin, sleep when your body tells you to & just step outside to inhale some fresh air. You’re nearly there so tell yourself how well you’ve done & then you’re on the road to recovery 👏🏻 .In the future you’ll look back & wonder how you managed it but stay strong . Sending big hugs DeeX

Well done! Nearly there now!

Advice? Just go with it! Sleep, rest, nap, be gentle with yourself. That’s the best way to help yourself heal. Xx

It's hard because you want to be normal and do what you used to do, but you have to listen to your body. If you're tired, just sleep! I spent so many hours on the sofa watching TV and nodding off for half an hour here and there, and I hated that the housework wasn't done as much as I'd like or that I ate too many ready meals because I couldn't stand and cook, but it's only temporary so go with the flow and let your body tell you what it wants or doesn't want to do. Only 2 more chemos to go, you're nearly there!! Xx

You’ve done so well, to get through all this. It’s the chemo doing its work….if it’s making any remaining cancer cells feel as bad as it’s making you feel, it will have done its job. Mammi gives some wonderful advice. Just treat yourself ever so gently. You’ve been through a lot but you’re getting through it.

Hugs from me (((xxx)))

Love

Wendy xx

Dear Cazy100,

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so fatigued after your chemotherapy. I do hope that this starts to improve for you, particularly when your treatment is finished.

Our members have already posted some helpful responses, but I wanted to also share our information booklet on managing fatigue with you: ovacome.org.uk/fatigue-booklet.

This provides some information about why chemotherapy can cause fatigue, as well as strategies you might want to try to help yourself manage this.

As always, our support team are here for you. If there is anything that you would like to talk through, even just to have a chat, please do get in touch. You can give us a call on 0800 008 7054. We're here from Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.

Best wishes,

Alice - Ovacome Support

My best advice as someone who did the 6 rounds of chemo and now has been on the chemo drug infusion ENHERTU for two years

is pretty simple

1)yes rest and give yourself a chance to rest initially

2) get up and get out there

I have found the best medicine is movement almost as if too much rest only makes you more tired

Hi Cazy, you are two thirds of the way there. Yes there’s no denying the fatigue is awful, but you can get through this, it’s the chemo doing its work.

I remember thinking it felt like the worst hangover ever. Be kind to yourself, rest lots if you need to & drink plenty of fluids. I found reflexology & the odd cup of coffee helpful xx

Hi. I agree with everyone else but would add that you might be anemic? I became symptomatic when my hemoglobin was just below normal and a transfusion made me feel a lot better. Otherwise just hang in there. It’s very hard but it will be finished soon.

Sleep and rest as much as possible. Maybe a massage?

I'm afraid I don't have any miracle tips, but can let you know that you are definitely not alone! Exactly by my 4th of 6th I started to question whether or not my body could do this anymore. (Spoiler - it did!) What helped was the mental decision that I was going to let my body do what it wanted and not feel guilty somehow that "all" I was doing was sleeping. One very good tip I got from an onc nurse was to take my naps somewhere other than my bed. That way you don't feel like you're constantly in bed/bedridden, and bed is for bedtime only. It actually helped a lot mentally. Big hugs from Los Angeles.
