Good morning all,

We have been contacted by STAAR Ovarian Cancer Foundation, based in the US, to ask for our support in publicising a survey for people diagnosed with low-grade serous ovarian cancer. We have confirmed that this is relevant to our members in the UK, and indeed the survey is being circulated worldwide.

Nicole Andrews, Board Chair of STAAR writes:

For the first time, leaders in the medical and advocacy community are coming together to conduct a first-of-its-kind, multi-national survey among people diagnosed with low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) to better understand and address the challenges of this difficult-to-treat disease.

LGSOC is a rare form of ovarian cancer that has only been classified in the past ten years. It is a separate disease than the more common high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) with different epidemiology, pathology, clinical presentation and outcomes, and very little has been published about the patient experience and its impact. To better understand the experiences of this unique population, we are joining other leaders in the LGSOC medical and advocacy community, in an effort to gather valuable insights and opinions so that we may help to better serve those living with LGSOC. If you are a LGSOC patient, please complete the survey. If you are not, but know of someone with LGSOC, please forward this email to them to make sure they are given the opportunity to share their opinion.

This 15-minute online survey is being administered by The Harris Poll and is supported by Verastem Oncology, a biopharmaceutical company committed to advancing new medicines for patients with cancer. Your individual responses will remain confidential and reported only in combination with the responses of others. Your email address and individual survey data will not be used for future marketing efforts.

If you have LGSOC and are interested in participating, see if you qualify for the survey by clicking the link below or copy and paste the following URL into your browser:

Please note that once you start the survey, you must complete it in a single sitting. If you exit the survey and try to come back to it later, you will be locked out. We ask that you complete the survey by August 18, 2023. After this date, the link may no longer be available.

Thank you in advance for your participation and continued support.

If you have a diagnosis of LGSOC and would be interested in taking part in the survey, please follow the link above. If you have any questions or comments about this, please do get in touch with our Ovacome support team. We are available via phone on 0800 708 0054 or via email: support@ovacome.org.uk.

Best wishes,
