Hi ladies, quick question
Hello Jaquiemoo
Thank you for your post. I'm sure our members will be along soonto share their experiences of HRD testing.
I just wanted to let you know about some information we have on HRD. There is an explanation of HRD in this news item on our website here: ovacome.org.uk/News/nice-ap...
You may also be interested in a webinar we hosted with Dr Rowan Miller, called What is HRD? You can view it on our website here: ovacome.org.uk/ovarian-canc...
I hope this information is useful. If you have any questions or want to talk anything through, please do get in touch with us. We'll be back after the bank holiday on 0800 008 7054 10am - 5pm excluding weekends, and you can also email us on support@ovacome.org.uk

HRD is to do with DNA and does not mean a tumour is 'estrogen fed'. The video linked to above explains all about HRD....
Hi Jacquiemoo
If your tumours test positive to HRD test it may determine your treatment pathway. Approximately 50% of women test positive to HRD.
In case you haven’t watched the video HRD means homologous recombination deficiency. It means there’s a problem in your tumor’s dna repair and it suggests a PARP inhibitor will be effective for you. PARP inhibitors stop dna repair but work best when that’s already a problem for your tumor as with BRCA mutations.
