Abdominal pain mostly after eating

Hello friends! For a longer time I have been suffering from sharp abdominal pain after eating, which sometimes extends to the rib area. It's very annoying because it happens to me almost every day now. I have an appointment for a gastro examination, but the waiting is already killing me. I am trying to find out what is the cause of my pain, until I came across this page medicspark.com/symptoms/sto... ,where they write that "The pancreas responds with sharp pain and mostly quite right after eating. The pains are around the navel and shoot upwards as well. The cause may be inflammation that is either acute or chronic. Oftentimes, the cause is a tumor.", which scared me a lot. I don't know what to think anymore, that's why I would like to ask you if there's anyone here who has had/have similar problems. I will be very grateful for any advice 🙏.

Hi Nikoleta

So do you already have a diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer? I looked at your profile which doesn’t say.

I think leave the diagnosis to the experts. Pain can happen for all sorts of reasons but if, for example you are on a particular medication then folks here might be able to share experiences xx

Hi

I agree with Lindy that you should leave any diagnosis to the experts. Googling things will only increase your anxiety plus you will always find something in Google that you will link to pain and parts of your body and start thinking the very worst. Having OC brings enough anxiety without Google. . I get abdominal pain too every day and I don't know the exact cause. Im starting my second treatment next week and pray and hope the pain goes away too. Your pain may be caused by anxiety as you are expecting it to happen so you are tense and stressed . This whole thing is so stressful and anxiety, fear and panic causing, its best not to add to it by making our own diagnosis, stress is so bad for our immune system and it needs to be stronger than ever. I hope your pain will vanish and you can feel calmer soon. Love, Annie 🥰

Dear NikoletaSauren,

Thank you for sharing your post, I can see that some of our forum members have replied. I hope this brings you some useful advice and support.

I am sorry to read that you have been feeling scared.

When you attend your gastro examination appointment, the clinical team will be able to provide you with specialist advice and guidance based on your individual symptoms. I just wanted to check that you were aware that My Ovacome is an ovarian cancer forum? You don't mention if you have a diagnosis of ovarian cancer or if you are worried you are at risk. If ovarian cancer is of concern to you, it is important to be aware that the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer can be the same as other common conditions.

We have a symptom diary that you may find useful to use in the lead up to your appointment where you can log symptoms you are experiencing and when. If you feel this would be a useful tool please see the link below to access the resource.

Please know that we are here to support those who feel they are at risk of ovarian cancer and we can talk through any worries. We can help plan for discussions about ovarian cancer risk at clinic appointments, provide ovarian cancer information and emotional support. We are here Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. You can call us on 0800 008 7054 or send us an email to support@ovacome.org.uk.

Best wishes,
