Hi. The last 4 months i have been getting really bad uncontrollable flushes. I had an ovarian debulking in August 21 so assume its linked to the menopause but these sweats are embarrassing. I only move or start to walk somewhere and my face has visable sweat dripping off it that now i take a face cloth around with me but when your shopping and at a checkout keep wiping me down isnt a option so the assistant who serves me has to see this sweat dripping. Has anyone any advice i already wear loose and cool clothes.

Dear Craftyperson1,
I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with hot flushes. Have you had a chance to speak to your team or your GP about your symptoms? They should be able to advise you on different options that may help reduce the hot flushes.
We have some detailed information about ovarian cancer and menopause (including a webinar with the menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson) on our website here: ovacome.org.uk/menopause
Here is a link to our leaflet on surgical menopause which may also be helpful: ovacome.org.uk/surgical-men...

I have been suffering with hot flushes too, surgery induced menopause & tamoxifen side effects combined. I spoke to my CNS and she referred me to the local cancer charity that run auricular acupuncture sessions , I’ve had 2 sessions so far and starting to see small improvements which is encouraging. All free of charge too, which is great. Might be worth checking out what’s on offer near you.
Also limiting caffeine & alcohol helps me.
A magnesium supplement may help? I also went into menopause after debulking (I was 44) & started having them. Since taking magnesium I have hardly any plus I sleep better.
