Hello all I came across this review about potential new treatments for ovarian cancer. Ferroptosis is now quite well known as an upcoming way of dealing with our cancer. This review explains how it works and the things that are being looked at. It's early days yet but great news.

Hi Sashay was wondering how you are doing? I am on my 3rd reoccurrence in less than 3 years and currently on Cisplatin and Gemzar..........I fear the worst that it is not working as am in a lot of pain and can feel the swollen lymph nodes.......worried that my time is coming close though everyone around me says how strong I am. seems my resolve is weakening along with my muscles. Hope everything they are doing for you is working!!!!🙂🦋🦋🦋

Hey there, Summergold. I’m sorry you are in pain and I hope your oncologist can get it under control. I hope your current treatment knocks the beast back in place! For me, All things considered, I’m doing pretty well. I had a CA125 this week. It was 23. Higher than I would like, but at least it is still in the normal range. I obtained a copy of The Longevity Diet by Valter Longo, PhD. It’s really interested. As I am 71, stage 4 and coming off chemo for my second recurrence, I decided to do the five-day fasting mimicking diet (FMD) he discusses in his book. I splurged for the Prolon diet. I’m finding it relatively easy to handle. I am obese so I have plenty of pounds to play with. It’s important to read the cautions in the book regarding folks 70 and older doing this. I plan to do three cycles. FMD followed by normal mostly plant based diet for three week, then another FMD followed by three weeks of normal plant based diet. I’ll let you know if it affects my CA125. I’m hoping I can stay in remission long enough to get strong enough to handle another round of chemo. 🤞🏽

I pay £15 for an hour session and I'm convinced it's helping me 😊 cancer can't survive in 100% oxygen so the idea is that it stops growth. It definitely helps whilst on chemotherapy x

I am going to try it!!!

How to induce ferroptosis is discussed in Jane McClelland’s book How to Starve Cancer. Get a copy and find out how. It’s worth trying.

As Kblaisel says ferroptosis is not new it’s been known of for a while, worth a look at Jane mcellands book it’s on Amazon.

Very early days. Looks as if there are some drugs that target the pathway, but no human studies done yet. Minimum of 10 years and probably 20 before there's any effective drug. Unfortunately there are a lot of steps between identifying the pathway and finding a safe, effective drug to treat the condition.

The rice university trial is starting on humans the end of this year, it reads that most of the drugs involved have already been passed by the fda and that it's just working out dosage from what I gather 😉 it sounds really promising 🤞
