I'll be on Avastin as a maintenance treatment for one to two years. I'm just wondering what happened to others at the end of their maintenance? Thank you all. This site is so helpful and reassuring.❤️
What happened to you after Avastin?: I'll be on... - My Ovacome
What happened to you after Avastin?
After Avastin I went onto Letrozle tablets with 3 monthly bloods and CT scan then moved to 6 months
Nothing very dramatic tbh. I did recur eventually but it took several years after the end of Avastin, which I had for 16 cycles. My approach is to live for the here and now, not to focus too much on the distant future xx
Hi, I started with Lynparza (July 2021) 6 weeks after my last chemo (May 2021). I had Avastin till Dec 2021. Since I stopped Avastin, I am only on Lynparza. My runny nose stopped. My joints feel a LOT better.
I no longer need to see my oncologist every 3 weeks (250km away one way...thus 500km every time).
So far I am doing really well (diagnosed Stage 4B Oct 2020) and have no signs of cancer. CA125 is consistently low. CT scan is clear. My oncologist happy for me to only see her every 3 months going forward.
We will decide what to do after 2 years on Lynparza.
Have you had some low red blood counts I am on Lynparza I started it at the End of Dec 2021 I am due for a Dr review had one dose reduction to 500mg but I see in the instructions it can drop to 400mg I am very small aswell my CA125 is also low
I was diagnosed with stage 4 OC in 2012. I had 18 cycles of Avastin after first line chemo during which time my blood pressure went up, had nose bleeds and aching joints. Fortunately, the aching joints and nose bleeds stopped as soon as I stopped having Avastin. I am on a very low dose tablet for high blood pressure but my GP had told me that my blood pressure was high before my diagnosis. I had surgery for a recurrence 5 years after my initial diagnosis and did not need any chemo or radiotherapy after that. It is now just over 10 years since my diagnosis and I am not on any medication for cancer and have enjoyed very special moments and been on some lovely holidays. I have now stopped thinking about a recurrence since this can or cannot happen and have decided to focus on enjoying my life and making the most of each day while I can.
