Hello Fortunate Ones,
How long did your remission last? Were you on a maintenance regimen during that time?
I do know each of us are on our own path, I just like to hear how we are all doing.

Hello,
I have been on this board for my partner. Her remission lasted a little over a year. She was on Avastin for 18 cycles until her CA125 started to creep up. Nothing showed on her scan though until almost 5 months later and even then, thought her CA125 was up to over 400 her scan didn't show a 'ton' of activity. Our oncologist actually thought it would be worse.
Currently she is on her 2nd line and after her 2nd cycle her CA125 is at a 56...so fingers crossed it keeps working!
There are many ladies though that even with advanced disease do not recur for years after frontline, so you maybe one of them! When I started this journey, I was speaking to a woman who had been through OC for 7 years and she mentioned that she had many friends who were Stage 3C who were in remission for years.
Hi, following a trial of Avastin for 12 months I achieved a first remission of nearly 4.5 years x Ishould say my mum achieved a remission of over 14 years following frontline chemo x
I had 4.5years remission before first recurrence. I had 16 rounds of Avastin initially. Now back in remission on Olaparib x
I had a remission of 4.5 years after first line chemo of carbo/taxol.
I probably don't fit into fortunate category more in the middle. Recurrence started whilst on avastin. Restarted chemo 10 months after frontline, second recurrence 3 months after second line. Finished 3rd line about a month ago, hoping I get longer this time
I'm currently going through my 1st reoccurrence 21 months after going into remission. I was stage 3c. Hoping all goes well and I get a longer period next time
HiWas diagnosed 3c in Jan 2018 debulking and chemo followed no maintenance treatment as it wasn't on offer then. Recurrence Jan 2022 had chemo and now going on Rubraca. Think positive xxxx
I had 18 years remission.
Hello Frags, I was diagnosed stage 3 High grade in July 2020 following debulking. I’m BRCA negative with no HRD mutation. I declined Parp inhibitor (Niraparib) following frontline chemo and had ten months in remission. About to finish up my second line chemo. I’m 71. Hope things go very well for you. Sashay
I finished my first chemo treatment (and surgery) just before Christmas December 2021. I went on Zejula - which my body did not take kindly too - and had to stop that. My CA125 went up, CT scan was done in March showing that I was in need of treatment. I started Avastin and Doxil in April. The doctor's had stated I was in remission, but I didn't really believe it. I'm hoping that this treatment will work. I was diagnosed OC 3C.
Hello I have HGSOC Stage 4. I recurred 5 months after frontline chemo. I had no maintenance regimen. Second line chemo worked for a bit, but the cancer started growing again 2 months before I finished. Currently on Avastin only & it’s working, although it’s only been 1.5 months. I’ve not been particularly lucky I guess (although I’m very grateful to still be alive) , but many women are & some people do better after 2nd line chemo than 1st, so the key is not to lose hope if 1st recurrence happens quickly. As far as I know, there isn’t an average NED or remission time amongst ovarian cancer patients because all of us are different. It’s pretty arbitrary & about luck, more than anything.
