Hi Devonian ,I'm also on carbo /caelyx ,had my first infusion last week ,so far my taste is ok ,but I was the same in carbo / taxol , everything tasted rotten , even water , sorry to say I didn't find a remedy ,my taste came back to normal after I'd finished.

Sending my sympathy , nothing worse than not being able to enjoy what you eat ,hang on in there ,hope carbo/ caelyx is doing it's job.

Thanks Cheryl, it's the little pleasures we miss. Just read about fresh pineapple so husband has been sent to the supermarket. Fingers crossed it works. Fatigue and wobbly legs (?) are also trying to push in, so doing a bit, sitting, doing another bit, sitting etc. 😳

I found curries the best for me, I could eat the very hot ones and they would seem very mild!

When my father had chemo many years ago I found some cookbooks for cancer patients on Amazon. They had recipes for sore mouths, metallic tastes, digestive troubles, etc. I'm sorry that I don't remember any of the titles, but it might be worth your looking into. Good luck. -- Lani

I found after 1st chemo lost taste for a few days. But it got longer with each one. Did come back. I found original Lucozade I could still taste. Jalapenos. xx

try these. no, seriously though it's horrible when your food tastes awful. you're told to eat healthily then the only things you can taste are the bad things. xx

Try everything you were not keen on or had not tried before; also strong tastes like curries. Pineapple in juice (not syrup), ginger beer, ginger biscuits and dry Rich Tea biscuits all suited me. Many friends found chicken and salad cream sandwiches were a favourite! Most of my previous favourite foods tasted wrong but my tastebuds went back to normal after chemo. Thinking of you x
