Hi ladies I’ve been on Rucaparib for 18 months with very few problems but now I have 4 weird symptoms:
My chin comes up with what looks like a carpet burn or red patch; sometimes in a streak from nostril to side of mouth.
My upper left arm is stupidly itchy like little thorns of nettle stings and breaks out into pin pricks of blood that form tiny scabs. Of course they itch again and I scratch and they bleed.
My left face from cheek bone to jaw is ultra sensitive to touch weird sensation.
Left side of my tongue is bumpy and sore.
Has anyone else experienced this or similar?
Do you think it’s stopped working?
Thank you hope you are all getting along well.

Hi I have been on Rucaparib for 2 years. After about a year I developed a bad itch and prickly feeling in both my arms. Onc doesn't think it's the Rucaparib. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis earlier this year with 3 fractures of the vertebrae so not sure if that's the cause. Have tried antihistamines and Amytriptaline but nothing helps much
Thank you for replying. Odd that we’ve both got itching. I also am having bad joints. I have developed trigger thumb and my knees, shoulders and wrists hurt. Arthritis runs in our family so that is probably why I’m experiencing that. I sympathise with your back problem and hope you can find some relief for it.
Thank you for posting. This is just to say please do let your team know about your side effects so they can advise you.
You'll see on the Cancer Research UK information for rucaparib they list skin rashes/sensitivity under side effects and advise to contact your team so they can prescribe treatment to help with the symptoms: cancerresearchuk.org/about-...
I hope this is helpful and that you get some relief from these side effects soon.
Hi there ive Just re read my post and thought I’d let you know that my thumb has stopped locking up and my joint pain is much better. I still get little break outs on my arms and legs but I’m moisturising more and that is a little better too. Good luck with the Rucaparib. In the beginning My dosage had to be tweaked to suit me but since then I’ve had very little problems.
