High grade serous ovarian cancer

Hi does anybody know what maintenance you can have with this cancer niraparib stopped working in the uk.

I was on Niraparib for nearly two years when it stopped working. I have just completed 18 weeks of carboplatin and gemcitibine, l see my oncologist next week. Best wishes

Thanks for your reply sorry it stopped working for you also how did you cope with gemcitibine ?? mum hasn’t had that yet just carbo hope all goes well for you x if you don’t mind letting me know thank you

Hi l have just read your Mum's profile and see that she has had several different chemo s over the years.l was diagnosed in 2012 and have had 5 different chemo s plus Avastin and of course the parp which your Mum had. I was told by my oncologist that it woeuld be chemo only from now on unless they can come up with a new trial. To answer your question about the Gemcitibine the oncologist warned me that it does play havoc with your bloods and it sure did, l became anaemic and needed a blood transfusion! but it's quite doable. I wish you and your Mum best wishes. I will let you know how l get on with the oncologist.
