Unable to complete Transvag U/S due to pain

After 10 doctors and lots of tests for symptoms that have come on suddenly and worsened over the past 6 weeks, I was sent for pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds. I have had both before, but not in at least 5 years. I have had benign cysts on ovaries in the past and had one ovary removed almost 10 years ago. The pelvic u/s went fine. But the transvaginal one could not be completed. Despite a few tries, the insertion of the wand was beyond painful. 😔 Has anyone had this happen before? What might cause it? I am afraid not having it done will slow down my diagnosis.

Hi I don't believe that not having the transvaginal would slow your diagnosis. Has your Dr suggested a CT or MRI following the u/s? If not it may be worth asking whether they are considering this. I hope you get answers.

Hiya. I was referred to a gyn with just the abdominal US, if that helps. 😊 My cyst was about 7cm. From the abdo US, they could see a septation and a small solid part with some blood supply. After surgery, I was diagnosed with Stage 1A low grade ovarian endometrioid adenocarcinoma.

Ask for an MRI if you’re worried about a diagnosis (although you’re in the process now so that’s half the battle). I refused the TV scan and had an MRI instead. I then had a CT following that. X

Thank you. Hoping to hear from gyno today or tomorrow with pelvic u/s results. I will request mri and CA125 blood test.
