CA125 query

Hi everyone, hoping you amazing people can help once again. I’ve just found out my CA125 level is 319 (I’m waiting for a treatment plan) but I have noticed some people are very worried about their level which has started around 150 a lot lower than mine. I’m panicking. Does this mean mine is so high that I’m in a scary position prior to treatment? Thanks for advice in advance xxx

A CA 125 test isn't accurate enough to use for ovarian cancer screening in general because many noncancerous conditions can increase the CA 125 level.

Try not to get too hung up on the number, I did, and I realise I was wrong to get so stressed about it rising.

Your CTscan is a much better measure of what is going on and it is this that your team will use to come up with a suitable plan.

As Lyn says.... it’s the trajectory of the ca125 rather than the level..mine was 600ish on diagnosis when I had a huge amount of cancer in my body but 1600 on recurrence in a few lymph nodes and a spot on the liver. No real rhyme or reason xx

I hope not to scary with my own information but after a CA125 results of only 49.5 I ended up with another surgery for my ovarian cancer but smaller that the prior one, I’m glad they catches on time it was encapsulated so I was good that means it has not spreading all over around, another part of my bowels were cited y reconnected and thanks GodNo need of stoma God is good!!! I hope my experience give you an idea to help you God blessed you with health and lots of love! Xx
