Am experiencing terrible vertigo and believe this is due to carboplatin. Anyone suffering from this and have you any tips. Got some pills from the doc but they take two or three weeks to work apparently ( if they work) I live on my own and finding it hard to do day to day stuff at the moment .

Thanks for the link. The GP told me to look on Youtube for exercises as its sometimes caused by crystals in the ears, but Im sure this is damage due to the chemo as I have tinnitus as well.

Did try one manoevre and I felt absolutely dreadful! The Pills Ive got are anti histamines I think.

Hi. I’ve had bad vertigo before cancer and less severe during chemo. There’s a drug called promethazine that might help immediately though it will knock you out. It’s an anti nausea and anti motion sickness drug. I hope you can get through it soon. Xx

Hi - I hope you can try Sea Bands. Get at pharmacy OTC - or Amazon. You wear on your wrist. It works similar to acupressure - no drugs! I wear at least on one wrist especially while in chemo to prevent dizziness. I have given many pairs to family and friends over the years. I’ve been told they are popular on cruise ships and during pregnancy for nausea - as well. Hope you can try them! Take care!

Hi, I had this after every chemo ( carb/toxol) and it was awful. It lasted around 10 days and I had a weeks reprieve then another bout after next round. Its a horrible feeling and I was tried on various potions but nothing really helped. I tried to drink plenty and took fresh root ginger as it made me feel quite sick. When chemo finished it went so I hope this is resolved for you too after you finish your treatment. X

I got some tablets to dissolve slowly under my top gum. They took nearly an hour to slowly dissolve I think they were Stemetil. Good Luck with it. It is unpleasant
