Hello

We posted last week about a survey into experiences of paracentesis.

Ovacome are working with Dr Roshan Agarwal, consultant oncologist at Northampton General Hospital, to help clinicians better understand the patient experience of paracentesis, also known as ascites drainage. The results from this survey will be used to inform how treatment is offered in the future.

Approximately 30 per cent (one in three) of people diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer will experience fluid building up in the abdomen. This build up is called ascites and can be treated by ascitic drainage / tap which is also known as paracentesis. If you have ever had ascites drained we would really appreciate you taking the time to fill out this survey.

If you are the relative of someone who has had a paracentesis procedure, you can also fill out the survey.

Complete the survey at surveymonkey.co.uk/r/L5W8TGF

Thank you very much for your help.

Best wishes

Julia (Ovacome Support Services Officer)
