A really intersting article so thank you! Also its great to hear how research by undergraduates may shape the future of chemotherapy and our response to it.

PhD students are research students who have already obtained their first degree and then move onto research, usually funded by companies, hospitals etc depending on their area of expertise. Hopefully the money will still be available to fund this in the future!
Oh I see! I thought she was very knowledgeable so that explains why! Thank you x
Very interesting article, thank you for sharing it with us. It’s good to know we have new researchers looking into our disease. Stay safe ❤️Xx Jane
Yes this could be a game changer if it allows previously plat resistant cancer to be treated with the usual chemo drugs. Thanks for sharing x
Wow interesting thanks for the share, i love to hear about new research projects that are going on, This could potentially help all cancer treatments xx
Hi Bettyxxx, How are you doing? Gwen x
Hi Gwen still ok 🤞scan again in a couple of weeks and almost 3 years since surgery in London its gone so fast how are you?
Diane
Hi Diane, Nice to hear from you and that you've been doing really well. Good Luck with your scan that's coming up. My recent CT scan has shown some reoccurrence but it's moving very slowing - being low grade - I am on Tamoxifen so perhaps it's stopped working. Discussed with Prof Jayson/Christie he's given me some options for me to choose from!!!! In the meantime we've decided to watch and wait and re-scan in 3 months time,i.e. end December/begin. January. I'm also just waiting for Clinical Trials team to get back to me as they might have a suitable trial. Diane I don't know if you saw this news but in case you didn't - do you remember Zena who we met in the ward at Queen Charlotte's - she died abt. a month ago having been poorly since Christmas - she was also Low Grade! Sad times.
Best wishes. Gwen x
An interesting article. It would be good to know how PARP inhibitors play a role in this research and also the significance of BRCA1 and 2+ ovarian cancer patients. Also something worth thinking about is why some PARP inhibitors such as olaparib are particularly successful in treating some BRCA + ladies who have responded well to carboplatin for example.
A really interesting & encouraging article. Thanks for sharing.
Agree with everyone - both the 'thank you for sharing' and the 'very interesting and encouraging'.
An interesting article and pleased that Ovarian Cancer is being highlighted more to increase awareness and that the research is pointing to a brighter outcome for future generations. Is the repair protein that Sarah Taylor isolates the PARP protein that repairs damaged DNA in the cancer cells or a new one? I'd like to know more.
