Rossnbren, I had 12 infusions of Avastin every three weeks, without any loss of hair. Oncology have stopped my treatments, for now, due to painful shoulders stiffening up and getting worse since January, and hands seizing up over the past few months. They are quite sure it's the Avastin that is causing it. I have not heard of loss of hair from Avastin but everyone seems to have different side effects. x

Thanks Meridian, I also have stiffness of joints and aching muscles but not as painful as yours, just enough to be annoying but yes everyone is different.I wish you well.

Hi Rossnbren, I am on my 19th Avastin & have a head of curly hair now after losing all my hair when I was on chemo, I finished it last July. Maybe you could ask the nurses when you go for your next infusion if it's normal for some women to lose their hair when on avastin. I do find my bones on my feet can be a little painful & stiff especially first thing in the morning when I get out of bed but nothing as bad as Meridian & I am just glad that it's keeping OC away. Hope your nurses can explain why you are losing your hair & if they can't then they might investigate it for you. Take care & I hope you can continue having Avastin X

Hi Rossnbren. I've been on Avastin for 5.5 years and never lost any hair (I did lose about 10% when I was on Caelyx years ago). My only side effects that I'm sure are from Avastin, are raised blood pressure and sneezy/runny nose. We all experience different side effects but I can't recall anyone on here saying they were losing hair.

I hope Avastin will be as good to you as it has been to me. Best wishes. Pauline.

Wow you are going so well..it is a bit odd...they put me on Gem and Cissplaten for recurrence last Nov. My hair slowly shed through that but has increased on Avastin. On my fifth dose now. Had a 7 week break through COVID now back on Avastin and hair shedding again and neuropathy has increased too. They told me neither of these side affects are common.. strange!!

No mine all grew back. I lost it on chemo went straight onto Avastin and it came back whilst on Avastin and it was curly.

My hair went very thick, I haven’t heard that Avastin causes hair loss?

Good luck in your treatment xx
