Hi. Unfortunately cancer is unpredictable, and if we knew why apparently healthy people get it, we would be well on our way to beating it.
There is no particular way of eating that will cure cancer, so I just try to eat as healthily as possible, with only a few lapses.( Will probably happen a few times this week!)
I have a few books written by "cancer experts" and generally take on their advice if it seems relevant to me.
Good luck with your research, and you will get a lot of information from this site, from people that have experienced OC.
Hi Cinia, getting cancer when you didn’t expect it and had no risk factors you can point to can cause you to question everything.
Allow yourself to grieve for the certainty you have lost and don’t forget that lots of us on this journey have needed help to come to terms with it... asking for help is a strong thing to do when you face something enormous like this. There is life after diagnosis.. and you will find a way through xx
I had the same questions 4 years ago. I have read up on all kinds of diets. And I don't know if there is an answer of one size fits all. But what I did was read up on some of the foods I did eat. And I have changed my diet as I have given up wheat. I read a book called Wheat Belly and the Grain Brain. I don't know if it has anything to do with cancer but I want to feel better. And I had to start over again after I got the clear from my doctor back in 2017 to return to normal activities. I went on WW and started at the YMCA. I think what the answer is that each one of us has to investigate and get to know our own bodies and systems. What cancer taught me is to pay attention more to myself. Be good to yourself. Merry Christmas and GodBless.
