Just had a call from oncology saying that although my CT scan looked okay generally, there is a very tiny fuzzy bit on my liver so to be thorough, they are ordering a MRI to have a better look. She really tried to reassure me and told me not to worry about it as my CA125 is going down, but you do, don’t you? I’ve completed 4 chemos so only 2 more to go. I am hoping that will be the end of it all. At least for a good few years....

You don’t want any ambiguity... just a straightforward progress report. Unfortunately life and medical tests are not always that clear cut. Hold your nerve though, they are only checking a less than conclusive result... with any luck it will be nothing xx
Dear Gill,
I am with Lyn, you are lucky to have such a careful and concerned oncologist. An MRI just might give a clearer picture of what’s going on inside you.
Hopefully, it is nothing and you can continue in your present treatment. Your CA-125 going down is a reassuring sign.
But I know how you feel. We are all walking on eggshells.
I am having my scan on Friday and I still can’t help but worry.
Fingers crossed all is clear for you.
But the waiting will be hard.
Best wishes and hugs,
Laura
Sounds like your team are being very thorough. Hope it's something and nothing. Xx
I hear it all the time but try not to worry--keep occupied till you get the test results (I wonder if MRI results can be given to you sooner). You have a great oncologist to want to be absolutely sure instead of waiting for the next scheduled scan. Wishing you all the best! xoxo
I have some metastasis in my liver but also some low density nodules which are thought to be benign and haven’t been mentioned recently so fingers crossed that all will be well.
Hi Lockygill. A friend of mine, who is on a clinical trial had her CT scan which showed a slight shadow on her liver. She was told that she could therefore no longer remain on the trial. A canny doctor at our hospital decided to check all her past CT scans. He found that the shadow had been there every time but hadn't been noticed. The drug company therefore agreed for her to remain on the drug. You can just never be sure.
I suggest not taking it too seriously, until there's a definite reason. Good luck with it. Pauline.
Crossing fingers for the results! It's nerve wracking each time. Same for me.
And.. While a furry/fuzzy liver sounds like a fairly unique thing to possess, I'm sure you could do without it. Rather get a cat. Liver behave.
xx. Maus
