Leg Cramps and Niraparib???

Hi again,

I am checking in with the other ladies on Zejula aka Niraparib.

I have been getting several annoying cramps in my feet and calves every evening, and what is worse, during the night, switching from one leg to the other.

They are really disturbing my sleep!

I have read that they can be caused by dehydration, and as so many of us have reported, I am excessively thirsty and carry bottles of water wherever I go and keep 2 beside my bed at night.

I also take magnesium sachets every other night and that is in the normal range.

Is anyone else getting these cramps?

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laura. I had been getting cramps in the first couple of months. I then started taking the magnesium in powder form. Turns out that I was low on potassium. I was drinking so much that I peed everything out. Once in a while the cramps will hit my foot and toes.

When your leg cramps up point your toes like a ballerina. That always helps.

See if you can have the blood test that shows your mineral levels.

We need our sleep! Hope it gets resolved soon.

I’ve been getting those too.

My new GP recommends supplements from youngevity.com/us_en/?SID=f...

She also said that we should all be gluten free as much as possible and told me to watch this.

Ouch Laura.

I was quite prone to muscle cramps during Avastin, and especially so while sitting in my car, driving on the Autobahn (or even worse, in stop and go traffic). But I also experienced the nighttime cramp switcharoo a few times. I thought it was related to Avastin, but you're not on Avastin, so I don't know where they come from in your case.

What helped me was to stretch my affected leg against a wall and take turns pointing my toes and pressing them against the wall in a 90 deg angle.

Hope you find some supplements that work for you. xx. Maus
