Has anybody had loud gurgling noises in their digestive system with constipation ( currently taking 200 Niraparib ) . Have had constipation since I started taking them in December but manageable however now accompanied by what feels like trapped wind gripes and loud bowel noises .Thanks Julia

Hi Jules

I'm on Olaparib and yes I can totally relate ! Without giving away too much info...... how can I put this..... I can sometimes have a wind issue - told you that was probably too much info! From what I can gather and from personal experience the parps do have an effect on stomach/bowels! xx Kathy xx

Oh that's good that you have reassurance from the nurse. I would also add that it can be exacerbated by what I eat. If for instance I eat a lot of salad of veg. Might be something to perhaps monitor? All the best. Kathy xx

Mm I had salad for lunch yesterday and day before as trying to balance a low salt diet so the salad thing could be a factor .x

I did the same last week, made salad up for 3 days running, boy did I suffer, then realised what had triggered it. If I have things in moderation it's fine. My hubby did a mid-week roast yesterday with potatoes, carrots, swede, broc, sprouts, parsnip and cauli (not vast amounts of each but he likes variety. I knew about it this morning!

Yes definitely. I’m not on maintenance at the moment and have a stoma but can definitely relate to those very loud gurgling noises!!!! My stoma has earned itself the nickname ‘stinky’ And we just laugh now and say ‘stinky’s’ at it again!!

I have had gurgling noises in my stomach and it usually relates to wind that follows at some point later. Agree with the other ladies that in general apart from days immediately following chemo constipation it is generally associated with what I eat. Too much greens and vegetables definitely makes it worse. Also too much oil or grease. The wind is not could and not controllable which is often embarrassing it often expels by itself and if it doesn't I get terrible tummy pains.
