Hello Ladies,

So sorry there is no reply to you yet.
Just not that many of us with brain mets, thank goodness.
Just wishing you well on Carbo/Caelyx.
I am on it for abdominal recurrence and it has totally destroyed that.
However, I just found this:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/2...
Hopefully,
This is encouraging.
Hugs,
Laura
Are you in UK. There is a facebook group called ovarian cancer UK and there is also an american forum called Inspire where I have seen posts about brain mets. Wishing you good luck with your treatment.
Hi Mary. Sorry I have no actual advice, but want to send strength and hope. That's scary for sure.
At my last Avastin infusion I spoke with a lady who had breast cancer with brain mets. She had received RT to the head after surgery (one side only) and that seemed to have gotten rid of all the brain mets. Now she's receiving chemo incl. dual antibody treatment to try and shrink the remaining breast nodule, which is inoperable. So far with good results (it's shrinking). Not quite sure anymore what the cytostatica was.. think Taxol?
RT is no option?
Wishing you best of luck with the chemo. May it banish the mets. Hugs. Maus
I had 11 brain lesions and received radiotherapy daily over a week last July. I then went onto monthly Caelyx/Carboplatin for 2 infusions before going on to Niraparib PARP inhibitor.
My last MRI scan showed the mets had gone with only a small scar left.
I do hope this helps with your decision xx
Thank you very much for your reply. It was very encouraging to hear that your treatment worked. I am currently on Carbo/Caelyx monthly. Tomorrow will be my forth out of six. I will also find out how my CA125 are doing. All this very scary.
Please keep in contact.
Wishing you all the best. Liz
Dear Marycha , you must be feeling pretty anxious but reading how well other women are going is very encouraging so I hope you have been mire optimistic after reading their positive results . I always think we are vulnerable to thinking the worst , sometimes more than others . I call it the “ what ifs” but then so often great results happen with the huge choice of treatments available . I send you love and best wishes for resilience and peace of mind and the very best outcome you can wish for !

Thank you for your encouragement Denise. I am not in very good place today and really needed optimism and positivity.
