Many thanks for all the replies to my question, although reading through, I see I said two years NED, when in fact it is only one year! (wishful thinking) However, I have decided to go for it anyway. As everyone has intimated, life is too short, and if I am unable to travel due to recurrence, I will have more pressing concerns than the financial loss.

I was going to reply to your other thread and say try not to worry about going on your own. I had a relative a few years ago who was 90yrs and travelled entirely on her own backwards and forwards up and down the UK from Manchester airport. I know that's not long distance but its the getting on and off that's daunting isn't it? Once you are on you only sit there! My aunt had to have wheelchair assistance as she couldnt walk the distance to the plane, so we booked this on booking the tickets and she said everyone was so helpful they were falling over themselves to look after her. As she was not very mobile she found the assistants would help her to the loo and fetch her coffee in the waiting lounge etc etc. Practice doing puppy dog eyes and saying 'I'd love some assistance....'
Hi , so glad you have chosen to go for it . There are many posts re insurance but in case you haven’t seen them “ Insurance with “ is brilliant , the cost is very reasonable , it’s loaded in as much as the excess is big so unless you are ill you don’t get stung for a big fee.xx
