Has anyone else been taking the supplement Salvestrol?
The evidence is really weak and the scientists who present the evidence are also the owners of the manufacturers! A case for cynicism if ever there was one.
A kind relative bought me £200 worth as he was convinced by a friend that they had cured his cancer. In the face of such generosity, it would have been churlish not to take them. So highly cynical as I was, I started on salvestrols and as I hadn't recurred, I continued up to present.
So admittedly, taking salvestrols could be complete quackery and my long recurrence-free time may soon be over but I'd be interested if anyone else has taken them and had success.
Love and strength to all.

Funnily enough, I take salvestrol! My kinesiologist recommended it to me, and she doesn’t have any vested interest in it. I have other cancer friends who go to her, and she didn’t recommend it to them, but she feels sure it will help me. Giving them a whirl - who know if it will help!
Hey Vicki, they're definitely worth a whirl! I did have a little boost of energy when I first started taking them. I've been taking them for 3 years now! I'm not on any maintenance drugs now so it's me and the salvestrols going it alone!
Thanks Maus, I feel I can't come off them now just in case they are working. I certainly don't have any negative side effects from them so I'm sure there not doing me any harm (apart from the £40 a month they cost).
Yes I do take the platinum ones - twice a day. Not sure I can mention the brand. Also I wouldnt like to recommend them as the evidence is old and on some websites salvestrols are regarded as useless. I'll pm you. Xx
Hi A friend just recommended them to me from SA : she has had a 20per cent reduction on the cancer on her liver ( primary breast) but who knows as she takes a lot of other supplements and is re trying Taxol. I think I may order some despite my cynicism as who knows - it may help a bit! The expense is high as for all supplements.
Am doing well thank Jools, CT results tomorrow though 😬. I do have bronchiectasis though now (possibly a side effect of treatment) but since shaking off the side effects of nearly 3 years of double dose Avastin finally, I feel near-human again! I am expected to start chemo again soon though. Ca125 has been steadily rising and last two scans have shown slight growth in my remaining nodule. How are you doing? Sandra xx
My medical herbalist recommended salvestrols. She studied at the university where the scientist who created them was a mainstream research professor, looking for something which would kill cancer cells but leave normal cells unharmed. My understanding is that they are fruit seeds which react with an enzyme found only in cancer cells and the reaction destroys the cancer cells. Luteolin increases the amount of enzyme and thus the effectiveness of the treatment.80% of people have the enzyme in their cancer cells. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing if you are in the 80% or not.
The pharmaceutical companies are not interested. There is no profit in fruit and vegetables. So the professor has created his own company.
