Maggies is a great idea. I used to go to the one in Hammersmith and loved it. You feel like you don't have to wear all your social walls and masks . Instead you can be yourself and trust in the safety and sympathy of a group of folks who are facing similar circumstances. It's balm for the soul.

We've been to the Maggie's near us today . Lovely place, lovely people. Thoroughly recommend going there.

The Manchester Maggie's is wonderful. It wasn't completed until after I finished treatment at The Christie but I have been in and visited. It's one of the largest, I think and designed by Norman Foster- its a beautiful building with a garden and all sorts of things happening there. If you ever feel like you fancy/need a peaceful and nurturing place (aside from coming onto this forum), do take a wander down there.. there's always someone to chat with or lovely spaces just to sit. They have professional support available as well as lovely volunteers.

Really worth a visit.... just go & have a cup of tea one day and then you'll know what its like!

Its crazy in US, where I'm at don't have much at all for Ovarian cancer, everything is breast cancer. Until this site I really had no one I could talk, listen, give advice and vent too. You are all my hero's, thank you. ❤❤❤Liz
