HI everyone. I have asked before about the above named clinic but would love to hear from anyone who has been involved in the research and treatment that they are doing. I am considering going there and would be grateful to hear of other people's experience

I have taken the COC drugs since my third dose of first line chemo. I’m currently exactly 1 year (tomorrow’) in remission and still take them. I have no idea if they are helping but I’d be crazy to stop. I have to say that all but one of the drugs for me have been easy to take, but I find the doxycycline upsets my tummy too much so give that one a miss..

Personally I really buy into the science behind these drugs, being a nurse I have researched this pretty in depth. I find the clinic very professional and helpful.

Hi Linda, it’s Care Oncology Clinic (COC) in Harley Street in London. They prescribe a cocktail of 4 off label repurposed drugs (Metformin, Mebendazole, Atorvastatin and Doxycycline. Their science suggests that these common drugs have some powerful anti cancer properties.

And, in England, how expensive is the clinic? I am over 65, so prescription meds are free..

In the U.K. you pay privately. It works out about £200 per consultation (4 per year) and the drugs are about £60 every 3 months.

I’ll try and find the link to the US site. It was mentioned in a Facebook post and my doctor told me during our last consultation.

These drugs are not licensed for cancer so it’s difficult for anyone in the nhs to prescribe them for that reason. They have prescribing pathways they must follow.

I have already looked it up and will check in the USA branch later today.

My regular treatment at Bath's RUH, was terrific in eradicating and vaporising every visible cell, but recurrence is always a lurking fear.

That said, I was extremely ill from the cancer and could barely make it to my Chemo appointments, so Inwould not have made it to London at that time. As the cancer was destroyed, I became stronger, but was totally levelled by the Chemo.

But it worked! Now, though, I will research this and I thank you so much for your help in informing us of so optimistic an alternative.

I’ve also email coc to ask for US contact details.

Thank you for your reply which is very encouraging. I was really interested when I read about the clinic, and what they were saying seemed to make sense but I wanted to find someone who had first hand experience so you have really helped. I wish you well for continuing remission.

I started straight after surgery in 2015 for stage 3C , took alongside chemo & still on the protocol.

Feel great & am still in complete remission

I, like Marian, started taking them half way through my first line of chemo. I’ve just realised that was 2 years ago last week. I am low grade however I have advanced OC and as yet I am still in remission. I also found the doxy problematic but I find the other drugs easy to take. I find the clinic very professional and informative. They are publishing a study soon into their results.

I couldn’t fault them.

I am planning a trip there. My Onc not keen on anything while I’m on Avastin (5 more). Like Marian, as a former nurse, I like the science/logic behind these drugs. Lxx ☀️

My Onco prepared to let me make the choice. “Well, Metformin certainly may have merit.”

I was a patient of theirs and I can’t fault the level of professionalism. I buy in to their approach, and the drugs are so simple it’s a travesty that more isn’t being done to understand how they work, and in particular, the synergistic effects of them combined.

However, in my case, they weren’t successful, and I had my first recurrence 10 months after finishing first line chemo. Obviously, I can’t say if the recurrence might have happened sooner were it not for the drugs. Maybe they slowed it down - who knows?

I’m still very interested in them, but my new oncologist is 100% against them, so I am steering clear for now. She’s heavily involved in clinical research and recognises that they *could* be useful for some cancers, but she really doesn’t feel they will be of benefit to me personally.

If you can afford to visit the COC and you are keen to try the protocol, then you have nothing to lose, and hopefully will benefit.
