Hi lovely ladies

I just wanted a general consensus on how you were treated for second recurrence?

Im classed as platinum resistant.

I have also been offered ARIEL 4 - anyone on this and drawn the rucaparib arm - how are you doing on it ?

I know someone on rucaparib and she’s doing OK. I believe she’s stable/had some improvements. I think the drug is showing some promise, but I don’t know much else.

Hi 2mini2

I was told that chemo was my only option.

I refused to believe that, so went on a search for something else, I had hoped to find immunotherapy...

I was instead recommended an Oncologist in London for a second opinion.

The rest is history ( on my page). I had a large and radical surgery performed by the fast-becoming-renowned Professor F in London, before then starting chemo.

She has bought me more time. She is incredible and worth you speaking to I think.

I’m not sure on trials but can put you in touch with the same London Oncologist who referred me. He is absolutely up there with all trials.

Good luck,

Nicky

Hi Nicky,

Like you Nicky I had surgery in London and was told not a cure but will give more time. And like you Nicky ( and many others here) I am trying to be aware of other treatments, surgeries and trials which may help. Yes immunotherapy appears to be the future; there was a discussion on today's Victoria Derbyshire programme BBC2 about this. Could you please pm me with the info. on the London Oncologist and just how much uptodate info. he has. I am a low grader.

Best wishes Nicky.

Hi, I also was categorized as platinum resistant. I was given Avastin and it has kept the disease stable for over 6 months with no progression.

Sorry I have only now seen your post and I hope my reply is not too late to be of use to you.... I am on Ariel4 and am coming up to the end of my second monthly cycle. It has not been as bad as I feared, in fact no real problems. I like the bi-weekly assessments and hope it is working, but my scan n Thursday will say more about that. If it works out I will only need monthly visits to the clinic. Hope this helps and sorry for delay... I don’t always check in.

Take care and good luck
