second surgery: Where do I find Autumn n... - My Ovacome
second surgery
I rang the Ovacome helpline & they sent me back copies. Lx
Hi
Just to let you know I have been to London last week to see the consultant and she has said no to any op. I found it incredibly hard accepting what she said as I had high hopes of another option to all the chemo. I was told that she could have phoned and told me but felt it better to say in person. I just wish she had phoned instead of asking me because it raised my hopes.
Best wishes
Anja
Hi Anja, so sorry to hear of this disappointing news. It sounded as if you went to the best place for a second surgery opinion (QC). I wonder what her reasons were?
Anja, this has come onto an old ‘thread’....I don’t know if you want it to be be a new ‘post’? (You need to re-post it if you do).
What are your options now? Thinking of you, sending a big hug, Linda xx
Hello Nwji
Unfortunately we are completely out of back copies now, but do click the link Sunfleury has provided and you can see back copies up to 2014.
Best wishes

Have found the article thank you so much Anna
Hello Nwji,
If the article you wanted is pages 7 & 8 on the DESKTOP III interim research on secondary surgery followed by chemo, it is my story which illustrates the realities and findings so far. If you have any questions, do ask, either privately or on here. Anna, (Ovacome Support Services Manager) could also be worth a call on the free phone number 0800 008 7054
Warm wishes for a good day, Lesley
If I weren't such a technophobe, I'd be sending a string of smilies as my reply to you, Sunfleury...but this will have to do!
Warm wishes, Lesley
Thanks Lesley xx
Super....smiling is so fantastic - changes my mood of the moment in a flash. L xx
If you are interested in secondary surgery, I went for a second opinion for this at Queen Charlotte's Hammersmith and saw a top professor who agreed to operate after other surgeons had deemed the tumour inoperable. Surgery went ahead and all the visible cancer was removed. Then six cycles of chemo.
