Saw the Doctor. He said my scan lit up areas near the liver and around the bowel. On the peritoneum. Very small though. A teeny bit of my shoulder lit up too which confused them. Lol.
Watch and wait. See consultant in two weeks. Scan in two months. Chemo will be 3-6 months probably or before if I get symptoms.
What will it mean if it's recurred in the peritoneum?
Is that where it usually occurs?

The peritoneum is the thin membrane that surrounds our organs. It think because it is so large it is possible that it gets some cells. My main cancer was primary peritoneal which either spread to the ovaries or visa versa. My doctor did a oophorectomy (total hysterectomy) and omentum removal. There were some spots on the peritoneum which died from chemo and he removed surgically. I just had a scan which showed it recurring on my liver and my CA 125 was up to 477 after 12 in March 2017. I'm not sure what but maybe the doctor sees something new on yours. Relax until after your next consult. I'm seeking a second opinion next week to see if chemo AGAIN is what I need. I'll be thinking of you and sending prayers.
They seem confused too. They said it's probably nothing. Lol. Xx
Hi Suzanne
That's better news than expected?? The peritoneum is a common place for deposits but like they've said they are tiny so try to relax and go with the flow for now. If you haven't got to have chemo yet that's a good thing (the longer the better for good results).
I haven't been in here much lately but do think about you and just saw your last few posts. You are doing ok, you've got this
Currently having chemo for peritoneal deposits (2nd line) - it's where my cancer originally spread to (apparently it can just go whoosh and peritoneum is where it likes to go) and, although 1st line cleared it and Avastin gave me time off, they told me it would come back there. Hopefully booting it out with chemo again. Yours are small and they will step in when action is required. Hope it goes ok. x
Half way through my chemo - CA125 going down. Very tired some days but handling it. Having a little holiday at the moment to celebrate the half way mark.
HI Suzanne, I am on my 5th line treatment and each time I've had a scan it show up on the peritoneum, as Calena said it is the membrane that surround our organs and I think if I'm right can not be cut, on my scans it show that chemo helps in a positive way on the peritoneum deposits and it is good yours are small so hopefully the chemo will clear the peritoneum. Take care sending you my best wishes Lorraine💙💙
