Hello and thank you for your inspiring messages. The operation went ahead as planned on Friday and i am told they got everything!!!
I had a rough day yesterday but things are very different today despite the pouring rain!!!
So if all continues to improve there is talk of going home tomorrow.
Cheers

Great news!!! I had mine 4 weeks ago and.also had full clearance, such a relief isn't it. Now go steady and don't run before you can walk. Accept help from those who love you and want to help, you will be better for it
Well done Cheryl and congrats on the positive news. Now for the next bit where you go home, take it really easy, do as little as possible but mobilise it is important to move around.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 congratulations! Its such a relief when surgery is over and news is so positive! Just remember- take things slow and steady. And one little tip- constipation meds will be your friend when time is right.
Good to hear, don't forget a cushion over your abdomen when you go home and then straight to bed , rest, rest rest! Little walks around the same floor when you can, after a couple of weeks you can try the stairs but be careful how you go up and down - step by step.
don't forget to take your pain killers regularly , call your GP if you are concerned over anything - I found I was allergic to the Tramadol I was given!
Keep drinking water, prepare for constipation and eat little and often, no lifting, no stretching etc etc etc . Read and relax and heal.
Couple of tips you may not need:
1. Use cushions or pillows to surround yourself with in bed - I'm usually a side sleeper and had to get used to sleeping on my back as I was scared about my glued wound! So propped myself within a bank of pillows for a couple of weeks - I had no issues !
2. Sleep where you are comfortable - I moved back into our bed after a week, couldn't bear to be in bed with hubby after my op, no offence to hubby! I was just in pain and needed 'Me Time' to heal. Plus I couldn't sleep for at least a week apart from short naps.
3. Take your painkillers regularly - important enough to say twice! Pain reduced on day 7 for me - a real breakthrough moment .
Good news you should soon be home,
Take care
Clare xx
Watch out for the bumps in the road as you're driven home. Really jar ! Good luck. Pauline.
