Has anyone experienced the following problems on this chemo?  Severe pains in bowel area and sore around abdomen?

I had Gem I found it mad me very emotional and stressed out less physical pains so  I'm sorry I can't be of any more help - wishing you all the best Trish

I had significant pain in my tumour sites with Gemcarbo but this passed a few weeks after chemo stopped 😊.

Hope you are feeling better, have you rung your Unit? I'm sorry I can't give any advice or personal experiences.

I wasn't on Gemzar, sounds grim. Did get the bowel pain and they finally diagnosed colitis which I was a bit miffed about since they did a hemicolectomy. I told the GP that you'd thought they'd remove the bad bit. She said it was probably all messed up because of the tumours pressing on the gut and all the surgery. Have you had any surgery? That might not be helping either. Hope it gets better soon.

I finished Gemzar 3 weeks ago and am still having bowel pain. I also had it most of the time during treatment. I had constipation during treatment ss well but think that was due to the anti sickness. Just waiting for results of post treatment CT Morag

Thanks for all your help and the oncology nurse phoned me yesterday and said that it was probably due to the anti-sickness tablets and Oramorph causing constipation so am giving them the elbow for now.  She also said that my CA125 had reduced significantly so that was a good bit of news.  I am waiting for a scan either next week or week after so will see how things are going.
