Hi went on this course a while ago and found it really useful and very supportive. Lots of tips and ideas to help us live with our diagnosis.

Penny Brohn near Bristol is a wonderful restful place and I am sure you will really enjoy the course. Your nervousness will soon disappear and you will feel very relaxed. I highly recommend it to anyone going through the journey of cancer.

I have been to 3 different courses at Penny Brohn in Bristol. I absolutely LOVE it there. The whole centre is very peaceful, the gardens are beautiful and the food is great. You should come away feeling renewed and refreshed and hopefully at peace with our situation.

I went last year. The setting is lovely and the people very kind and as others have said, you should come away relaxed and perhaps better able to handle your current situation. My oncologist recommended I go, via Target Ovarian.

Some of the course wasn't for me, there's a slight boarding school atmosphere and I'd already picked up a lot of what they cover via Maggies Centre and a nutritionist I'd been speaking to (yayy Maggies!) But it was good to have what I was told by them confirmed and there was other stuff which was new to me. Plus they also cover mindfulness, meditation and yoga nidra, which I wanted to learn about and found very soothing. I still occasionally chat to some of the women I met on the course, I set up a FB group; some of them live close by and have been back.

The food is interesting, but for people who must be careful what they eat so as not to cause bowel problems (if, say, a tumour is pressing in on it) should be aware it's quite harsh, raw vegetables and high in fibre, all of which you may have been told to avoid. So talk to their nutritionist about that and they can suggest foods you can bring.
