And yes I am scared..this was discovered by chance last week. I am having CT scan Tuesday to see where exactly it is, it could be ovary bladder or bowel. I have been searching the net for a dedicated site for support and hope I have found it?

Hi- everyone on this site has been exactly where you are now. It is terrifying of course- your mind starts going in all sorts of directions. But try to keep calm, you haven't got long to go till your CT then hopefully the results will follow not long after that and then you will have a little more clarity about what you are dealing with.

In terms of ovarian cancer - you would usually have a blood test CA125- but I guess that as this cyst was found by chance you won't have had this.

Really hope you get a good outcome.

Thank you for replying so quickly, yes that test is being done and when I see my consultant to get the scan results I will ask the results, I have been having digestion and bowel problems heavy heavy periods for a long time. Oscopoies top and bottom, and I had a Thermachoice procedure which prompted the ultrasound scan last week as I was having pain after that op.

Hi There,

Please try not to worry too much. I know it is hard but it could be any number of things not necessarily cancer. As Claire said you haven't got long to wait until your CT scan and hopefully you will get the results of that quickly.

There is always someone on here who can help you and you can contact Ovacome for support or advise as well. They have nurses on duty during the week.

Good luck I hope it turns out to be something minor.

Will be thinking of you 2moro and hoping you get positive results - by that I mean it's nothing too sinister. Do let us know how you get on - we have all been thru the systems - scans, blood tests, poking and prodding :) And we are all here to offer kind words or a shoulder to cry on 24/7 x

Hoping you get good results from all your tests. It's very daunting not knowing and having to wait. Got everything crossed for you.

Welcome to the 'we don't want to belong to it' club. Easier said than done but try not to worry too much!

It probably won't help but I have found, in the 4 years and two months since my diagnosis that it helps me to look for the positive in everything: e.g. : lost my hair! No need to shave my legs; lost my eyelashes, good excuse to try out false ones and 60's style kohl eyeliner; no eyebrows? Get busy drawing them in like the stars of the 30's! Feeling sick and can't eat? How about that slimmer figure! Had to have ascites drained? Wow! Lost 12lb overnight.

I also look for the funny side of everything (me in the cold cap is the biggest laugh in years!). It doesn't get rid of the anxiety but it cuts it down to size and, as a died in the wool control freak sod's law dictated I got cancer but I am damned well determined it shouldn't win! When, in the middle of the night, the fear strikes I turn on the light and give myself a good talking to.

Don't know if it helps but it is how I have coped so far! You will have your own strategies! All you need to do is find them!

Lots of love and support with positive thoughts winging your way!

Ps forgot to say I hope that this was all irrelevant and you sail out from getting the results floating on a cloud. If not make your own cloud and float on that! I predate the hippy era but a few of them had some good idea about waking up and smelling the roses tho' I am not sure I would recommend some of their methods. My experience of "West Indian Wedding cake" was somewhat bizarre until the ingredients were explained by another guest at the party and I never repeated it.

Rooting for you!

Hi,

I hope that the results of the scan and blood test prove to be good for you. I think that waiting for tests and the results can be the hardest part of this.

You have found your way to a supportive forum and if you need to be here you'll make some good on-line friends.

Please keep in touch with us and let us know what your results are.

Sending a big hug.

Love
