There are many, many strange feelings during the long period of recovery from hysterectomy. If you have had extensive surgery (rather than keyhole) the muscles across the abdomen have been cut and only have scar tissue to re-attach to. As this happens, you experience many new feelings - but if you coninue to be concerned, get it checked by your GP.

I found the ladycare magnet useful for night sweats - and still do 4 years on!

Best wishes,

Isadora

Dear Isadora, Thank you for your reply, I actually had keyhole surgery but as you say we do get pokedm around a lot when we are under the knife, I will certainly give the ladycare magnet a go as the night sweats are interrupting my sleep so much. Love Pam

As you are still fairly close to your surgery, it is likely that nerves and muscles are reconnecting. Also, scar tissue takes months to form, so some sensations are likely to be down to that. I had similar sensations which really kicked in about six months after surgery - and it was nothing sinister - but for peace of mind, I would always recommend having it checked out.

Dear bellabee, Yes you are quite right its just that every thing settled down so well after surgery, and as I am on my own to tend to worry about every little niggle, I will check with the CNS nurse, Thanks Pam

Hi Pam, I was told to expect some discomfort /pain for up to a year as the surgeons had been very brutal around my diaphragm. Why not give your cns a ring for peace of mind.

Hi there

I would certainly agree, was unzipped twice which took a long time to get over. However things really really do get better , lots of rest and treats help. The appearance of the area also greatly improves with time.

Take care and much love

hI Charlie, I had a keyhole hysterectomy with no problems at the time, but I will ring cns for info probably scar tissue knitting together, otherwise I am very fit and well, Love Pam xx

Hi Pam, I have had pains in my abdomen since surgery that I liken to severe cramps. When I mentioned it to my CNS she said it was most probably adhesions (scar tissue) . It doesn't happen as often now 13mths post surgery. Mainly if I was bending over or turned too quickly. If worried as your team xx

Hi! I have used the Ldycare magnet for years, I find it really effective for flushes and sweats.... I can tell when I forget it, I go back to having the flushes again, quite quickly. The consultant at my menopause clinic recommended it

All the best

Love Wendy xx

Hi wendydee, I will start to use the magnet tomorrow but would have thought at the age of 67 I would be over all that, it would appear not, though I was on HRT for 17 years before I was diagnosed, but I expect having the hysterectomy has brought on the symptoms again. Take care. Love Pam xx

Hi Pam

I am 63 and had my op 10 years ago, I still get the hot flushes sometimes, especially when I don't use the magnet. I don't know when I'll grow out of it :-O

Good luck with the magnet
