Tram lines on shirts when ironing, burnt toast for breakfast, hoover bag full, weeds in garden look like flowers, any ideas......Sandra feeling fine otherwise. Love Paul xx lol
Side effects - terrible: Tram lines on shirts... - My Ovacome
Side effects - terrible
Yep! Good enough is good - and none of it matters ultimately!
Best wishes,
Isadora.
Get a cleaner for a couple of hours a week, ask the cleaner to do the shirts, or wear t-shirts. Eat out of M&S. Is Sandra getting Attendance Allowance? If not, she should be - get help from your CNS, Macmillan or Citizens' Advice filling in the form. I think it's around £400 or more a month. You are doing better than my husband did. He didn't bother to iron shirts.
What - or who - matters at the moment is Sandra. If the garden is getting her down, get someone to help with it. Do what needs to be done to help her cope with treatment - and you are already doing a tremendous amount. Nothing else matters. Cx
I can't offer better advice than the above. I hope from your blog that Sandra is feeling well at the moment. Please pass on my very best wishes. Annie
Hi, Paul.
I think you're doing a wonderful work cause my husband is a total disaster at home.
Happily we have a cleaner who comes twice a week, so the house is not upside down.
It's a good advice to get some help so you can focus on the most important - Sandra.
Hugs,
Fernanda
No worries, all under control, just having a laugh!!! lol Paul xx
Made me chuckle. You are going to have to LEARN if you are going to be remotely useful! And if you can't - dive into all christynh's great short cuts! Glad Sandra is good...

In the scheme of things nothing else matters, who cares if the jobs are not done, the most precious thing in life is "TIME" , and I would hate to spend the rest of the time I have worrying about the housework, ironing or gardening not being done... my Philosophy is this... life is for living not being tied to the kitchen sink etc, the dust is always going to be here long after I've gone and the weeds will carry on growing....my elderly neighbour after her husband died was very alone because when poeple invited her out she was always too busy cleaning windows etc even when her husband was around she put her jobs first.... but where is she now? No longer with us and hardly anyone knew her...because she never had time.
But Paul we all know you are teasing best wishes to Sandra love x G x
Very true, only teasing sorry everyone, just trying to lift the mood lol Paul xx
Practice makes Perfect Paul! I'm sure you can brew up some nice herbal teas with those weeds, wear jackets at all times, use a dustpan and brush and have Weetabix for breakfast (oh no I read there was a shortage) and everything will be just fine!

We must have the same sense if humour cos you made me laugh with you all the way
Big hugs to you both Amanda x
Morning Paul ,
Loved your blog ..... made me think back to when hubby was doing all the chores etc etc . Hubby was a star bless him he even powered my feet after my shower as I could not reach them after my op .....
There will always be dust ..so as long as Sandra is feeling fine thats all that matters .
Love Jan x
Hi Jan, please may I borrow your husband to "power" my feet. Does it speed you up? Maybe he can teach my lovely hubby how to do it for me. Do you use gas or electricity? Tee hee!!
Sorry, I think the gorgeous sunshine has made me silly .....!!

All good, my military background helps, all chores covered and we employ a gardener once a fortnight to look after the weeding. Sandra is getting the best personal care possible. Love Paul xx
Iron your own shirts, make your own toast and find out how to empty the hoover bag! Even when not ill I did not do housework or iron anyone's shirts (If it needs ironing I do not buy it) I cook, but from choice!
I now pay a gardner to do my pots and flower bed, and a friend to do the hoovering as I can no longer manoever the hoover up the stairs.
I trust Sandra is able to devote her attention to the really bad side effects!

You made me laugh so much I read out your blog to my husband - then suffered terrible guilt when I carried on down the page and saw the lovely helpful advice from others. I was so pleased to see that I WAS right and it WAS written tongue-in-cheek.
Glad you can still keep your sense of humour - it helps so much doesn't it?
Love to you both, Solange
My husband decided he'd rather take his shirts to the cleaners over the road to be washed and ironed than learn how to do it himself. They do 6 shirts for a tenner which he says is money well spent. As he likes wearing heavy duty cord shirts, he may have a point.
I say, let standards slip at a time like this. When are you going to have a better excuse?
Love Mary xx
You are a good husband, and I think that alone (plus the rest she can get) will help. Good luck to you and your wife. And I think the cleaner idea is good if you can afford. Here in the US we have a few organizations that will do a few cleanings for free for cancer patients.
TUT TUT PAUL!!!! You an army major with double creases in trousers. Now that I do not believe. Must have always been on a charge if so.
Seriously though I do hope Sandra is feeling better Think of her often.
Take care both of you. The chores will wait.
Love Hilary xx
