Hello,

Did you inquire at the Medimaps website? You can complete this form and they will email a list of locations with the TBS software installed on the DEXA equipment: medimapsgroup.com/find-cent...

Agree with Lorraine. Coincidentally, my endocrinologist had that software. I also asked for bone marker testing when I went for blood work. Had to ask but he did it . 🤷

there is no rush especially if you need to get more info before you make a decision. On the other hand some people are very happy with medicine if they feel at risk of a fragility fracture

I have had 2 dexa scans showing osteopriosis 2.6 then 2.9 Endo did extensive blood work and told me I could wait a year and now im here a year later. Still hesistant but want to see my bone quality TBS before i make the decision. Disappointeed the list didnt have places with tbs scan. I can see they have been using them in research but why are they not using everywhere?

That is too bad... I found that some of the centers did not know about the TBS, it took me days to get the correct information. The Medimaps list is of all the centers which purchased the TBS software. I finally found a center with a relatively new Hologic DXA machine that also had the TBS software.

Where are you in California (my home state)?

I found the TBS to be of value as it is now added to the FRAX risk score. In my case, the TBS was normal so it decreased my risk score. It helped in my decision to delay Reclast. FYI, there is a Reclast Support Group on facebook facebook.com/groups/2842503...

I also recommend the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF), they have local support groups. I see they have 2 in California. bonehealthandosteoporosis.o...

I am in the Boston group with monthly zoom meetings.

My husband has UC Davis as his medical group, They do a dexa with a bunch of other stuff for fat and muscle but no TBS. :( I found a lead in San diego. Im waiting for a call back. We will see. we both have Osteopriosis but his is from parathyroid issue mine was early menapause and then going dairy free for 10 years because of autoimmune issues. So much fun!
