Hi everyone
Has any one used or are using a vibrating exercise plate to help build up your bone strength especially for osteopenia.
Whats the advantages and disadvantages using it?
Thanks in advance for replys😁

Don't know how well it works for promoting bones (there have been studies I haven't read them) but apparently it can at the very least improve muscular strength and balance, both of which help to avoid falling. As falls are the greatest risk for fracture it seems like this is something worth looking into.
Not all plates are created equal. The research on the effectiveness was done with one specific device. (Sorry, I don’t have the name. But someone may know it here). It was tested with the astronauts. The most important thing is to look at the frequency of vibration in the research and if the plate you are looking at matches it. Yes, the research shows improvement. But it does require daily use of 10 minutes. Also, do a Google search for contraindications, as it is not be recommended for everyone. At one time if you’ve had a total knee or hip replacement, it was contraindicated.
Agree with the last rely, it will help to build both strength and balance, but not a substitute for other strengthening and balance exercises.
Harvard studies revealed the vib plates do nothing for your bones
its a very expensive con job
Aaaaaa No . read the studies they all say the plate does nothing to make your bone stronger . this story and product was circulated by some very dangerous con man who wanted to make money on older women who do not know any better . wise up
Latest studies done by doctors stated clearly that these very expensive plates DO NOTHING TO HELP BONE. save your money they cost tens of thousands of bucks and do nothing at all.
Thank you for sharing. Could you reply with the link to the study you are referring to?
Hi Melissa yes I will see where I read it and put up a link for you
this product makes big promises but dont deliver and its so expensive too how sad to exploit these patients with osteoporosis

this article and hundreds of others prove through extensive studies on this product that it does not help build bone at all. article is quite long and very detailed but you can read it and see how the plates which they call inactive exercise do not work .
Could you make it a click link, I’m not sure how to access it?
Interesting, that they tested health pre puberty boys.
Hi not sure how to do that but the article was printed in the medical journals all over the world
they used kids for the tester group which is not any different than adults actually if this vibe machine worked the kids would be more likely to have positive results rather than elderly women with osteoporosis but they also did studies on adults so there is the result the no work method or passive exercise does nothing
its GARBAGE. if you want stronger bone do some weight workouts do the work .to strengthen bone yu got to do the work
Hi Melissa I read this article titled .... WHOLE-BODY VIBRATION DEVICES GIVE NO BONE DENSITY BOOST
they compare the vibrational plate to the age old strap that used to shimmy your backside for lazy people who thought this would make them slender. It did NOTHING .
Now this article is published in
WOMENS HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY hope you read it as this contraption is very expensive and does nothing to work
article starts like this.....
Remember those weight loss machines that consisted of a vibrating belt you
this is proof enough its a medical study on women
Thank you for sharing your opinion on this. I think at this point we will have to agree to disagree on this subject.
its not my opinion and opinions are irrelevant only the medical and scientific studies matter and the results speak for themselves they the studies say its trash and save your money people!
so the findings basically state that this vibration machine DOES NOTHING !
most people wont bother to read the findings and if they do read them they do not understand them so I want to translate the study by the womens health institute for those people that the machine does basically nothing. like the belt that used to shimmy and shake in the old time gyms its a joke
bones are bones Melissa and to read the study which was conducted by this and so many other universities just type it in the bar and look it up (not rocket science) look it up
There's a good article here about vibration therapy (opens in pdf): theros.org.uk/media/1577/vi...
Thank you for the share on this information. It does a great job at explaining the benefits and the two different types.
this article is NOT scientifically based and so it is absurd plus the soviet studies were twisted by the person who came up with His version of the Soviet space findings its just greed basically he took the findings out of context
The Royal Osteoporosis Society (formerly the National Osteoporosis Society, hence the heading on the factsheet) bases all its articles and factsheets on properly conducted scientific research. Their information is updated if/when new evidence comes to light. Here's an article that references research studies: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
No and they are not even recognized by scientific orgs
YOU are spouting nonsense - you were sent the legit medical evidence that these machines are a joke and do nothing
so if you for some reason choose to believe that they do anythng for your bone - you are fooling yourself- the doctors say they are junk
sorry but reality is what it is . I want all the women readng this to be savy and know that the vibration machine does nothing for bones, so say the medical and scientific teams at several universities who studied them.
I'd be interested in reading the studies you mention, that obviously contradict other scientific studies. Could you copy some links for me please? I've been reading scientific studies too, but as is so often the case, different studies can give different results. I agree that exercise with impact, weights and resistance bands is important, but not everyone is able to do this.
look it up yourself - what do I work for you? ! gave you the studies the MEDICAL studies and read it - can you read??
Sorry, I didn't see any links. Will look on my computer later, perhaps they will show there.
Is this the study you mean? womenshealth.northwestern.e.... If so, I note that there was no improvement in bone mineral density, but it doesn't clarify whether their bone density remained unchanged. Women will normally lose up to 20% of bone density during the 5-7 years immediately post menopause (nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-bo..., and beyond that it's still about 1% per year, so a study would need to show that the bone loss continued at the same normal rate, despite use of whole body vibration therapy. I assume this is the other study you referred to: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/260.... The study actually says the vibration platform increased bone formation "at day 8 P1NP increased by 25.1% (CI 12.3 to 38.0; paired t-test p=0.005) and bone resorption increased by 10.9% (CI 3.6 to 18.2; paired t-test p=0.009) compared to baseline."
You are such a rude person. Your wonderful weighted vest does nothing to improve your manners which are seriously lacking!
