Hi I have been having exactly the same problems. I could only have a telephone consultation with my doctor, can you do that? My doctor sent me for another endoscopy which showed I had oesophagitis and gastritis. My Omeprazole was immediately increased. I know you say your reflux meds give you stomach pain, but there are other meds. I really think you should call your doctor.Good luck

If only a telephone conversation is all you can get I would ask for a hospital referral . Long term meds can make you worse . After sheer persistence I was found to have Hiatus Hernia . This won’t go away . It ruled my life. Finally after cameras and monitors plus an unpleasant experience of fine tubes down my nose whilst awake to attach 24 hour monitor I then was offered surgery. Please be persistent. Surgery has changed my life - no tablets and nothing else . I watch what I eat to keep my weight stable but I am a new person
Hi there. I had stomach problems when taking Omeprozole. Ask to change to a H2 Blocker. Much kinder to the stomach and good if you have food intolerances. Or Lansoprozole if they are not available.
Hi, Does the burning cause the coughing or the coughing cause the burning? Whenever I get a cold I find that when I cough I squeeze what’s left of my stomach in the middle of my chest and get awful burning reflux, I hate catching a cold. I drink a lot of honey and lemon to and try to make sure my diet has a lot of yoghurt or creams it to dampen down the burning. If it’s the other way round chase for an appointment to find the cause. Happy Chrismas and Stay safe cheers Lizzy
When I have had ‘bouts’ of this I add the advanced Gaviscon liquid to my daily meds.I find it helps settle everything down and gives my system a break.
I take the 40mg of nexium a day as well as calfrate to line what’s left of my stomach.
I still have days when I need the gaviscon.
Good luck
