Hi all just joined so am newbie ..I was given Naproxin for severe pain in gallbladder ..after taking for 3days ordiginal pain gone ,stomach was very tender and sore then given Omeprazole 20mg gastro-resistance .Only took Naproxin for 2 more days then stopped as I couldn't put up with pain...but stayed on Omeprazole 20 mg 1 a day yellow capsule because tenderness in stomach Been taken first thing in the morning befor breakfast waiting 1hour then having breakfast 15 days now Am I taking correctly not sure about the length of time I leave between capsule and breakfast .if anyone can help I'd be greatful ...thanks

Hi Ashley that sounds fine how you are taking them. Have you had an endoscopy to look down to your stomach or for gallstones. Having had gallbladder removal and stones in bile ducts it is very painful and pain radiates to other parts of you body. Also had Oesphagal cancer which got detected after.

Yes, I take mine with a cuppa in bed then breakfast about 1 hr later, sometimes a bit before and sometimes a bit after, does not seem to be too critical.

Originally I was told to take them 30-60 mins before food but recently I read Dr Aviv's low acid book and he says that it's best to eat something 30 mins after to activate the ppi. He said that a lot of people take them wrong as drs give this information or some people leave it too long so they do not work aswell
