Flu jag .

Hi my husband was due to go for his third cycle of ECF chemo today , instead he has ended up in hospital . At our last clinic appointment the oncologist worked out when it was suitable for him to have his flu jag as his treatment is every 3 weeks so he said Monday 16th October was the best time . That night we both felt unwell but thought it would pass , not so for my husband when the nurse came in Tuesday morning to flush his pick line she called the Dr she came out and got him taken to hospital where it was discovered he had a bad infection , his temperature was 38.2 so they put him on antrivenous antibiotics and paracetamol , as he is still GN feed . We have since learnt it’s a different flu jag for the over 65 and with his immune system being so low it hit him harder . I know it’s a good thing to have but just be careful if your having chemo . We are hopping he will get home today and his chemo been rescheduled to next Friday . Hope you are all well . Jane .
