The event at Westminster scheduled for Monday 13 October 2014 is taking shape!
There will be a meeting organised by David Heyes, MP for Ashton under Lyne, at 1.30pm that day to tell people about the process of how to get the best result from trying to influence your MP. There will also be a reception on the House of Commons terrace from 4 - 6pm.
This is an important event to raise the profile of oesophageal cancer, and if you have not already done so, please write to your MP asking them to attend the reception, and even better to meet you to discuss the disease either at the Palace of Westminster on that day, or on home ground in the constituency. Or they (and/or you) can write to Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Health. If you can come to parliament on that day please contact me (alanmoss32@gmail.com)
Here is the list of our aims: actionagainstheartburn.org....
I am delighted to be able to say that the government's Be Clear on Cancer campaign will feature oesophago-gastric cancer on a national basis from 26 January until the end of February 2015, so that is a really excellent step forward in raising awareness of the symptoms of this disease and promoting earlier diagnosis, and we give great credit to Sean Duffy, the National Clinical Director for Cancer for supporting this project.
